Cost of living in Bangkok 2021

Living in Thailand is a dream of single people but trust me it is equally great for couples who want to set their soul free, who want to get lost in the beauty of this country, who want to explore the beautiful beaches of this country every weekend.

The golden rule of living in Thailand in the cheapest way is to become more like a local thai person. The more you speak thai, the more you would be able to negotiate while shopping and travelling.

Living in Bangkok and expenditures in daily life completely depends from person to person but here is the approximate cost of living in Bangkok :-

RENT

• Small house (Studio Apartment/1BHK) — 8,000 THB to 13,000 THB may include GYM/POOL
• Medium house (1BHK/2BHK) — 14,000 THB to 19,000 THB including GYM/POOL
• Large house (1BHK/2BHK) — 20,000 THB to 30,000 THB including GYM/POOL

BILLS

• Electricity Bill (If you are home most of the time) — 1500 to 2500 THB
• Water Bill — 200 to 400 THB
• Wifi (Unlimited plan) — 700 to 1000 THB

COMMUTE

• Grab (Most convenient) — 7–8 kms cost for GRAB car is 140 THB, GRAB bike is 95 THB
• BTS/MRT/Skytrain — 7–8 kms cost is approx 40 THB
• Local Taxi (they only speak thai most of the time) — 7–8 kms cost is approx 120 THB

GROCERY

• Makro/TESCO/BIG-C — For a month grocery it costs around 5000–7000 THB if you cook meal at home most of the time except weekends

RESTAURANTS

• For a meal of 2 — (cheap) 150 THB to 300 THB
• For a meal of 2 — (average) 300 THB to 500 THB
• For a meal of 2 — (expensive) 600 THB to 1500 THB or more

On calculating all the above things, if a person is living in a Medium House, his cost of living would be in the range of 25,000 THB to 30,000 THB.
